Éire Óg picked up where they left off against St Josephs. Again with a solid midfield, Kevin Morrissey and Conor Dillon were controlling the middle sector which helped Éire Óg get off to a good start. Points from Piers McGlynn, Peter “The Point” O’ Donovan, and Conor Finnegan opened proceedings. Vincent’s responded well and after some good pressing got two nice points. Éire Óg however bounced back. The Point scored a fine goal after giving the keeper the eyes and tagged on another point before the break.

The second half started in earnest. Kevin Morrissey opened the score with a West Clare point, Marcus De Cogan also got a nice point before a huge burst from Colin Forde set up John Paul Doyle for a goal. Peter “The Point” O’ Donovan also got involved and scored a nice point from a wide angle. Vincent’s however rallied and scored a nice brace of points. Piers McGlynn and Liam Reale responded with two more points for the Oxford men before Kevin Morrissey finished matters with a fine goal. Man of the Match was John Paul Doyle. Next up in the league Éire Óg host County Champions St Colmcilles in Horspath on Wednesday 31 May at 7.30 p.m.
