March Éire Óg Club News

First of all as a club we want to ensure long term development of Gaelic Games with Éire Óg in Oxford for years to come. The foundation for growth will be built on club coaches and club officers.
What I’d like to know from you is if you have any coaching qualifications and if you are interested in getting involved in coaching at any level. We held a Level 1 Coaching workshop a few years ago and we will be looking to hold one again in the near future. For those of you with coaching experience we will be trying to get Level 2, 3 courses in the coming months. Please let either myself or Frank Dillon know about this.
Next topic is club officers – we are always trying to recruit officers and plan on holding Officer training in the coming months. If you are interested in becoming involved or taking a more active involvement we would be really happy to hear from you. Again please let either myself or Frank Dillon know about this.
Subscriptions are now due. 25 pounds for playing members and 10 pounds for non playing members. As I’ve said before cheapest sports club in the County. Please get your subscriptions in.
We are having a quiz night at the Cowley Workers on Friday 13 – starting from 7.30 . 20  pound entry for a team of 5. The last one was good fun get yourselves along.  There’s lots of information on the revamped website folks, bookmark it and keep an eye on it for some exciting stuff coming up.
A few of you have been asking me about GAA GO – it’s quiet good – 80 euro for all the games on RTE and TG4  throughout the year (County, Club, U21 etc) with the exchange rate now that’s 57 pounds.
Finally I’d like to thank all of you who have been showing great dedication in training for both the Men’s and Ladies teams. We are getting a great turnout and some excellent training sessions. We had hoped to have a challenge arranged against a London Club this Sunday but unfortunately that has fallen through. Training continues at 11 a.m. on Sunday at Horspath – get yourselves along.
Oh and well done to Liam Reale and Alan Shire who represented Warwickshire Men’s Hurling team today in their emphatic win over Sligo.
